Centenary Way Walk - Kingsbury Water Park to Hawkesbury Junction

The first section of the Warwickshire Centenary Way (southbound) long distance path, starting at Kingsbury Water park and ending at Hawkesbury Junction on the Coventry Canal.

A walk of great variation, taking in north Warwickshires rolling farmland, mining villages, and several miles of canal towpaths. There are a number of stiles to negotiate with livestock being found in many fieldsin many fields. This is a rewarding ramble through North Warwickshire, offering some quiet out-of-the way corners of the county which contrast with more urbanised sections.

The walk can be broken down into easy sections.

Kingsbury Water Park to Lea Marston
Lea Marston to Whitacre Heat
Whitacre Heath to Shustoke
Shustoke to Furnace End
Furnace End to Birchley Heath
Birchley Heath to Hartshill Hayes Country Park

If doing the whole section it can be split at Hartshill Hays Country Park near Nuneaton.

The walk ends at Hawkesbury Junction on the outskirts of Coventry where the Coventry Canal meets the Oxford Canal.
In case of confusion Hawkesbury Juction is often called Sutton Stop after the family of 19th century lock keepers.

There is free parking on the road that leads to the Greyhound Inn. The Greyhound is one of the best known pubs on the whole canal system.
