A volunteer run local museum telling the story of the Atherstone area from the Romans to the present day. A rolling programme of special exhibitions goes into more detail about the Atherstone hat manufacturing industry, mining and quarrying and the overcrowded yards in which the workers lived. Hear about Atherstone’s connection with Queen Boudicca, King Henry VII and Prince Rupert as they travelled along the Roman Watling Street.
Entry is free as are bus and train timetables and tourism leaflets. We also stock local books, cards and merchandise for sale.
