Friends of Atherstone Heritage

Atherstone Visitor Centre has recently moved to a permanent home at 51 Long Street, Atherstone. We are currently waiting for funding to upgrade the centre, meanwhile we aim to tell the story of Atherstone from the Romans to the present day displaying artefacts donated by the people of Atherstone and the surrounding villages.

The Bedworth Heritage Centre in All Saints Square, Bedworth is run by members of the Bedworth Society which is a local civic amenity society, registered with The Civic Trust. The heritage centre is part of the magnificent Nicholas Chamberlaine Almshouses (grade two listed) which were built in 1840. Admission is free.

Anker MM were formed by a group of folk enthusiasts in Nuneaton in 1975, so this year we are celebrating 40 years of dancing and enjoyment of the Morris. We take our name from the River Anker which runs through Nuneaton; ‘anker’ being an ancient word meaning meander – possibly apt for Morris Men!
